Another radiant stain spreads
across my ruined heart.
Another day of misery begins,
more weariness, more tears.
I’ve shed so much blood. My journey
has taken so long. I’ve been reaching
for the robe the sun is wearing.
Now that’s a difficult path!
My soul enjoys a new contentment.
I see with sharper insight.
So why do you flash your anger
at me, lash me with scorn?
From my body, you stole my heart.
From my heart, you stole my life.
I can only pray:
Reveal yourself to me.
